I’ll Be the Mommy and You Be the Baby: Dramatic Play in Your Program
Pretending is very important in child development. Children who are encouraged in make-believe play develop good vocabulary which is crucial for learning to read. They learn to cooperate with others, problem solve and to think abstractly. When children pretend, they recall and recreate experiences. All of these skills are important for success in school and are the foundation for all learning.
