Choosing a child care program is one of the most important decisions you’ll ever make as a parent. Your final choice will depend on many factors, and you should consider them carefully in order to best meet the needs of your children and your family.

In the right child care situation, children build strong relationships with their caregivers, and develop and grow in a safe and loving environment with their peers. You as a parent will be happy knowing that your child is well cared for in a nurturing and educational atmosphere.

How to find Child Care

Our experienced staff in the Family, Community and Operations Services Department is ready to help! You may choose to:

  • Free access to search our online database 24 hours a day. The database includes all NYS regulated child care centers, family and group family child care providers, school-age programs, nursery schools, and camps in Rockland County.

  • We recommend that you select the fewest number of choices that apply, as each choice you make will narrow your search results. Please be sure to read the instructions and HELP functions carefully in order to facilitate a successful search.

  • In order to provide complete and accurate referrals we must have as much information as possible on your form. Please use the comments section to explain any special circumstances or needs you may have.

  • After submitting your completed form to Child Care Resources of Rockland, the Resource and Referral Coordinator will search the database and return referrals and related materials to you by email. Fill out our Child Care Request form by clicking on the button Request For Child Care. There is no fee for this service. Our emailed referrals may be routed to your spam folder.
