FREE All Behaviors Communicate: Self-Regulation Skills and Social and Emotional Learning

All behavior, including challenging behavior, is a form of communication. We can help children gain self-regulation skills after we investigate what the child is trying to communicate. Let’s look at the possible reasons, the goal of the actual behavior, and the results of the behavior. We can then make our own hypothesis and begin teaching self-regulation skills.
